FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ARE YOU A SCHOOL?
No. We are an enrichment, tutoring center, and resource for homeschooling families. Life is our school, but we are here to help your child stay on track and meet grade level requirements in their core subjects. Families that use our services are generally signed up with a charter and responsible for monthly check-ins. We also tutor students who regularly attend public and private schools.
I AM TOTALLY NEW TO HOMESCHOOLING, WHERE DO I BEGIN?
We are here to help you navigate the homeschooling world. Even if you do not sign up for one of our programs we can provide consulting and even curriculum planning for your homeschool year. Everything from understanding charter funds to filling out paperwork if you choose not to go the charter route .
WHAT GRADES DO YOU OFFER?
Currently our collaborative co-op will be limited to grades 1st - 6th, but we have after-school tutoring available for any age, grade, or subject. Our enrichment programs are also open to any age, but most things are geared for elementary aged students.
DO YOU TAKE CHARTER FUNDS?
Yes!!! We now accept funds from Pacific Coast Academy. While funds obviously can't work for a collaborative co-op, they can be used for enrichment and tutoring, music lessons, yoga, and many other activities we offer. Not with PCA? Let us know what charter you are with and we are happy to work on the required paperwork.
WHAT IS YOUR TEACHING STYLE?
We like to say we think outside the box so we are not wed to any one style. Our lead teacher is a certified Montessori educator with over 30 years of experience in a Montessori classroom so we definitely draw largely from that, but we also bring in whatever methods feel right and ones we are inspired by.
