About the event

Join us for our Book Club! This club is open to students in grades 4-6. We will read one book, create an interactive journal, meet several times to discuss, come up with a thesis, learn proper paragraph structure and end with an essay. Besides group discussions, each student will have one on one time with Ms Natalie to discuss their essays, along with phone call check-in to make sure they are on the right track as they read at home.

Ms. Natalie holds a Professional Clear Single Subject Teaching Crediental for the field of English with a Cross-Cultural, Language, and Academic Development Emphasis. A former middle school English teacher, writing and discussing literature is her passion.

Fee is $95 to join in on the month, and you'll be emailed the book title, worksheets to complete at home, and we'll set dates and times for meetings based on our group. Meetings will be 1-2 hours long. You'll just need to purchase the book or check it out from the library.

January's Book is Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper.

Book description: Melody is not like most people. She cannot walk or talk, but she has a photographic memory; she can remember every detail of everything she has ever experienced. She is smarter than most of the adults who try to diagnose her and smarter than her classmates in her integrated classroom - the very same classmates who dismiss her as mentally challenged because she cannot tell them otherwise. But Melody refuses to be defined by cerebral palsy. And she's determined to let everyone know it - somehow.

Happy Reading!
